Gorgeous, shimmering, ethically harvested iridescent beetle wings feature on this black fringe beauty. It does need to be treated delicately, as these shells are very special. This type of beetle shell has been used at least since the 15th century in fancy clothing and embroidery work. No beetle is harmed to harvest them.
Do you want your costume belt to have WAY more stage appeal? That's exactly what I created the comet tail for. It shimmers in every light, from stagelights to sunlight to candle light, and creates mesmerizing movement during spins and shimmies. Sometimes, that visual quality of movement in the upper leg area is limited when wearing clingy skirts, and this fully restores that breathtaking, shimmering quality to your spins and shimmies!
It can easily be transferred from one belt to another, so it multiplies your costume possibilities. It could even be used as a belly drape, if stitched to the bottom or back of a bra.
(White belt in photo on the mannequin is NOT included - the comet tail is the sparkling black part under the belt, with fringe, a beaded applique, and other sundries).
HOW TO USE: It's a 'tail' that can easily be whipstitched in 5-10 minutes to the bottom of your belt - front, side, or back. Or, you could choose to add 3-4 snaps (or hook and eye closures) to the backs of your belt, and the front of the 'tail', so that costume switches are a snap!
